My name is Shannon Kutscher, and I am the Director and Pre-K Lead Teacher at Tiny Tykes Academy. I graduated from California University of Pennsylvania with a Bachelor’s Degree in Education, earning my teaching certificate in Early Childhood Education. Throughout my professional development, I gained experience working and volunteering in the elementary schools of the West Jefferson Hills and Elizabeth Forward School Districts and community preschools, and I attended conferences and training relating to preschool education. Along the way, I developed a passion and dedication for teaching and Early Childhood Education.
It comes without saying that I love children, but that’s not the only reason I have chosen to dedicate my life to educating them. I believe that high quality early education has a significant impact on children’s future successes. That is why I decided to open Tiny Tykes Academy. Children deserve a chance to start off right with a good foundation of education, and I plan to help them be fully prepared for Kindergarten as well as their life long education.
Our facilities are set up strategically to expose children to situations that stimulate learning and development. Through play experiences and the guidance of our specially-trained staff, children will develop in the areas of personal-social, creative arts, language and literacy, science, logical-mathematical, and social studies. Our center also includes a spacious, fenced-in, outdoor play area to promote physical-health.
Tiny Tykes Academy has two buildings that share a parking lot. Our main building houses our infant space upstairs, our preschool space downstairs, and our fenced-in outdoor play space behind the building. Our second building is exclusively for our pre-k program.
